Rather suffer wrong...

I. Click here to READ first Genesis 13.

II. One thing the Bible teaches: (Possessions belonging to Lot and Abram were so great that they could not dwell together. There was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. At that time the Canaanites and the Perizzites were dwelling in the land.)

Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.”

III. Reflection

Questions: What was the solution to avoid conflict and strife in the family while living amidst the unbelievers? Who initiated that?

IV. Application:

Dear Lord God: I thank You for showing me that domestic strife and verbal conflict among family members should not happen amidst non-believers in the community. I thank You for letting me see that it was Uncle Abram who realized that it was a no-no for infight to occur. He took the initiative to offer a solution--as for the place to live next, Abram told Lot, you pick your best first. I will be the last to choose. Since then, there has been no more conflict between the two families.

I thank You, Lord, for taking me to this point to remind me of Your teaching about the right living among my brothers and sisters--Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? (1Cor 6:7).

O God! Please help me practice Your teaching today. To have no strife. To have no verbal exchange. To be richly blessed by You. Amen
