Integrate vs Alienate...
I. Click here to READ Leviticus 7 first.
II. One thing the Bible teaches: (The Lord continued to teach about the rules for the different offerings and the consequences when such rules were violated...)
20 . . . cut off from his people. 21 . . . cut off from his people. 25 cut off from his people. 27 . . . cut off from his people . . .
III. Reflection
* Questions: Is the repeated phrase "cut off from his people" from the above verses active voice (taking himself from his people) or passive voice (being cut off from his people)?
IV. Application:
Dear Lord God: I thank You for letting me know that being cut off from the people was a penalty-- something viewed as undesirable and unprivileged when a person violated the rules as instructed. I thank You for showing me that being with Your people is a privilege. And You intended for me to stay in the community of faith. I thank You, Lord, for taking me to this point to remind me of the oneness of the body--the body of Christ (1 Cor 12:12-15). Today, O Lord! Please enable me to integrate, not alienate, other body parts. Also, O Lord! Please help me not to take myself out of the body of Christ. I thank You, Lord, for establishing Your Church for me to take part in the corporate living. Amen
